Fish Report for 2-8-2010

Bait catching was excellent last night as we had all the squid we could handle within an hour after dinner. Again 4 am rolled in and the fish started biting the jigs. Hot stick this morning was Valene Garrison with 3 big ones on the PL68. The best rig was a squid rigged on 100 lb test with a 2 ounce slider and dropped down to the waiting fish. The squid on the kite also worked well this morning. Around 10 am the bite ended and we went through a lull for a few hours then they we started to pick away at them again. Big "Bad Bud Ruschmaupt" landed a 220 lb Tuna to take big fish honors for the day. We ended up with 16 big fish today and will get back at it tomorrow. Having the lower banks area all to ourselves is making for a nice trip, as the other boats out at the moment all chose to head down below to the bank and buffer-zone areas. We chose to hang in the lower banks this trip and so far it has made for a nice trip even with a couple of slow days mixed in there. The wind is blowing, but the sea state is nice and is making for some good fishing. "The Intrepid Team"
