Fish Report:
There was a storm over the weekend and the weather has been windy since then, eventhough the sun has been out. The Striper, Largemouth, and Smallmouth Bass bite has slowed quite a bit due to weather. The best approach has been to go bait fishing. Lures don;t seem to be getting much attention. The Largemouth Bass bite has almost turned off completely. The Smallmouth bite is better than the Largemouth bite. Jerk-baits and Crank-baits seem to be best. Stripers have been boiling early in the morning. Top water baits work well for the Stripers, or try bait fishing with anchovies. The Bass are suspended and have been hitting in the same areas. The Bass seem to prefer the shelves of the lake in Heron Bay, Swallow Bay and the Narrows.

Catfish have been biting in the shallow parts of the lake. Anchovies or chicken liver have been the bait to use for the Catfish. Trout are slowly starting to bite again. Anglers using medium to deep diving Crank-baits have worked well. Spinners such as rooster tails, Panther Martins or any spinner with a bucktail has been effective as well. If you are a bait fisherman, nightcrawlers have been the best.

Pictured Above: Pete Depuglia and his dad caught a 6 lb. Trout, an 8 lb. Catfish and an 11.5 lb. Striper. Their stringer weighed 25.5 lbs. They were using anchovies and fished by the Dam.

Pictured Above: Adam Chase of Brentwood caught a 3.7 lb. Striper in the Narrows on a Jerk-bait.
Photo #1: Bob Hargrove of Livermore caught a 3.8 lb. Largemouth across from the Marina in the Lower Narrows using a jerk-bait.
Photo #2: Jim Peponis of of San Jose caught a 14.1 lb. Striper at Heron Bay on a Top Water Lure.
