"This morning there were no sharks," reported Larry Eilbot for the Royal Polaris.

"Skipjack were a little harder to catch, and there were three major hookups. Ed Delaney and Neil Campbell both lost big fish close to the boat after lengthy battles in the dark. John Halcrow was the last man standing (with a landed fish) and it was a beauty. It was John's new personal best and weighed in at a hefty 233 pounds. It was a particularly hard fought victory around multiple tangles and against one ornery tuna. Just three more tuna were caught by eight A.M. and they weighed anywhere from 60 to 150 pounds. It was beginning to look like another long and not overly productive day, so Roy made the call to make a move and to try and find some fertile ground (well, water actually) and we took off, bagging one more wahoo on the way out. We'll be traveling the rest of today and arriving early tomorrow to take in some new scenery and hopefully find fish willing to offer us a greater amount of South of the border hospitality."
