http://www.royalpolaris.comA FEW MORE COWS (021614)!!! Yesterday evening the computer was problematic and as you might have been able to tell by the absence of poetry, Big D did the report and as he says, he made it short and sweet. He forgot to add that there were great prizes up for grabs also. Erik Simonsen had the biggest bait tuna yesterday and won a Boss Accurate reel. Kevin Shannon had the second biggest and won an Accurate rod. Both of these guys are on their first long range of any duration and both keep setting higher and higher personal bests. Today seemed long and hard but we wound up with a similar number of tuna as yesterday. There was an early morning bite that produced the two largest fish of day (so far). Gail Lynch a long time regular of this trip was having a rough go of it until he landed a 235 this morning which looks to be big fish of the day and worth a pair of Accurate Piranha pliers. Jim Shoaf who has been scoring regularly got a 206 which is second biggest and winner of a 6 pack of lures. Those were the only two cows of the day but we did have many fish over 170 today and there were a few in the 75 to 90 pound class. All the tuna today were caught on bait, mostly sardines. We scooped up a fair number of wahoo and it was probably our best day on the skinnies so far this trip. Weather remains grease calm and just plain hot and sunny. The French Connection remains strong on this trip as they always do. It's a good thing they don't take their tuna home or the United States' leading export would be fish to France! POEM OF THE DAY A Japanese fellow named Quo Is the best squid catcher I know If you like calamari You wont be sorry When fishing with squid pro Quo.
