The ice is still 12- to 14-inches thick over most of the lake and should be safe for at least a couple more weeks. There is a patch of open water around the Twin Creeks inlet. Fishing is good to excellent for perch and rainbow trout in 15 to 30 feet. You can catch larger rainbows by suspending over deep water. Fishing for splake and lake trout is slow to fair. Try tipping your jigs and spoons with mealworms, waxworms, nightcrawlers, perch meat or sucker meat. Call the Fish Lake Lodge at 435-638-1000 or the Quiet Fly Fisher fly shop at 435-616-2319 for up-to-date conditions and fishing reports.
