Report Date:
http://wildlife.utah.govAnglers using PowerBait have had fair fishing for small trout. Anglers using nightcrawlers or chub meat have been catching larger cutthroat trout, which have been generally inside the slot of 15-22 inches. Conservation Officer Wyatt Mecham recommends that shoreline anglers fish the dam cove, especially on the south point opposite the state park. He says the rocky east shoreline is good too. The fishermen's access on the west side is shallow with a lot of moss. Fishermen there are catching more chubs than trout. Anglers may want to start there and haul in a few chubs to use as bait at other parts of the reservoir. Mecham says that boaters have the advantage over shoreline anglers. The tiger trout that was caught over the Memorial Day holiday that came close to the state record was caught by an angler trolling with pop gear and a chub. Remember, tributaries are closed until the second Saturday in July.
