Have you ever caught a golden trout in Utah? You can learn more about how to catch them in this cool new video and informative blog post.
One place to catch golden trout is Echo Lake in the Murdock Basin. You'll need a 4-wheel-drive vehicle to reach this lake, and it's a rough, bumpy and slow ride. Try fishing with a size 14 elk-hair caddis. Although there is a four-fish limit for trout, anglers can keep an additional four brook trout in the Uintas. Echo Lake has both brook and golden trout, and anglers are encouraged to take full limits of brook trout.
Anglers report good fishing for the lakes in the Uintas. Seventeen lakes are scheduled to be stocked this week, so this area will be a great place to escape the heat and enjoy some midsummer fishing.
