Tuna Update

The San Diego has called in from a three quarter day with 100+ yellowfin tuna and still fishing. The Tribute called in earlier in the day to report 95 yellowfin tuna for the start of his day and a half trip. The Aztec as of 11am has 68 yellowfin tuna for his one day with lots of daylight left to fish. 

Many trips are are now fishing U.S. waters so bring a California license if you already have one.

7/28/14 11:00 UPDATE - Two boats have reported in so far. The Tribute has 95 yellowfin on the boat and the Aztec has landed 68 yellowfin. The fish are in the 12-30# range, and both boats are reporting nice weather. Trips are booking up fast, so make your reservations early!......

Offshore fishing for Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail and a few Dorado continues to be good with tuna up to 45-50 pounds being boated. Anchovies and sardines have been the bait of choice so rod/reel combos of 20#-50# line are recommended as well as hook sizes from#2 to 3/0. Flourocarbon leaders or top shots are also a good idea as they provide higher abbrasion resistance and less visibility than mono. Many trips are are now fishing U.S. waters so bring a California license......
