http://www.venturasportfishing.comExcellent weather has settled over the Norther Channel Islands and the sea surface temeratures are high. Fishing has been great for those of us who like to stay shallow and cast into the kelp for calico bass. If bottom fishing's on the menu then be ready for a boat load of red snapper, whitefish and even sheephead. Some barracuda, halibut and white seabass are still being caught too!
Today's Fish Count: 2 boats and 45 anglers caught.. 86 Ocean Whitefish, 3 Lingcod, 19 Sheephead, 6 Calico Bass, 242 Rockfish, 1, 40 Blue Perch, 12 Opaleye, 1 Yellowtail and 1 White Seabass.
Fishing tomorrow (Monday) we have one boat.. Island Spirit will be departing at 5am sharp with a lite load. Currently only 16 anglers on the roster, so plenty of room! Give our landing a call to talk about setting up your next fishing venture!
3/4 DAY & FULL DAY TACKLE: local islands or coastal fishing. Bring a lite rod/reel combo that you can cast with 12-20lb line. Also bring a medium rod/reel combo with 25-30lb line.
