LOWER: Anglers report good fishing with small flies or spinners. Grasshopper patterns and green drake patterns are effective in July and August. Baits are allowed from below Olmstead Diversion dam, down through the canyon and town. Anglers report good fishing in the deeper pools and near undercut banks. Please read the Utah Fishing Guidebook for the special regulations on the Provo River.

MIDDLE: Anglers report fair to good trout fishing with flies that range from size 18 to 22. Green drake patterns and hopper patterns work well on this stretch of the river. Small-sized flies will also work, but be sure to switch patterns if the fish aren't biting. Bait is allowed in the stretch above Charleston Bridge to the Midway Lane Bridge. Please read the Utah Fishing Guidebook for the special regulations on the Provo River.
