Not much has changed here, catfish still being caught regularly in shallow coves such as Cachuma Bay, Santa Cruz Bay, and Clark Canyon. Cut mackerel and doughbaits fished in 1' to 10' of water is the key to success. Both largemouth and smallmouth bass chasing shad on main lake points in the early morning and late afternoon hours. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and ripbaits were the top lure choices. A few crappie coming off the docks to the right of the marina, and around the boathouse. Minijigs combined with crappie nibble, or mealworm proved to be effective. Carp action has slowed considerably as of late, with most fish retreating to 20' plus depths. All other species were no shows.

Traps, spinnerbaits, rip baits, basically any shad imitation gets bit when an active school is located. Largemouth not as willing, although......

Catfish still on the chew, and can be found in the backs of coves and cuts throughout the lake. Best baits are mackerel, doughbaits, and dip baits. The Kitties are coming in from as little as 1' of water in the muddier bays such as Santa Cruz. Smallmouth bass have been taking reaction baits off of main lake points early and late, and during the midday drop shot and small jigs have been getting bit. Largemouth seem to have taken......
