Bear Lake Fish Report

Utah Division of Wildlife

Report Date:

Biologist Scott Tolentino reports good fishing on the east side trolling in 85 feet (or deeper) of water. Remember, in order to keep a cutthroat trout from Bear Lake it must have a healed fin clip (usually the adipose fin). Cutthroat trout with all fins intact must be released, including tagged fish with all of their fins. Consider releasing large lake trout in order to maintain the fishery. Lake trout grow slow and can easily live more than 35 years in Bear Lake.
