The seemingly endless catfish bite began to taper off last week, as only a handful were checked into the marina. There is still a lot of shad around if you're into dipping bait, which seems to be the key to success lately. The only bass biting have been late in the evening on reaction baits. Carp can still be found on the bank and in backs of cuts and coves. One angler reported that there were bluegill underneath the courtesy docks to the right of the marina, with mealworms taking most of the 'gils.
