Anglers report better ice in the dam arm and northeast side, although ice in any location should be treated as dangerous. Please be cautious. Carry a rescue rope, ice picks, and a floatation device. There have been unconfirmed reports of anglers falling through the ice. In the past few weeks, anglers have reported good fishing for smaller rainbows and cutthroats. On Dec. 8, Rick Berg reported 6-7 inches of ice near the dam. He said the ice was unstable with a lot of cracking under his feet as he walked. Rick said he caught a trout every 20 minutes. Most were 14-inch cutthroats.
