While much of the focus of late has been on the improved striped bass action throughout the lake, don't forget the other species. One angler from Las Vegas caught a 3.5-pound smallmouth bass while fishing at Arizona Telephone Cove. He was fishing from shore using plastics. Catfish are still providing anglers tight lines as well. Working anchovies in grass beds in coves has worked well for the whisker fish.
