Brian Kiyohara docked American Angler September 25, after a five-day trip to Guadalupe. The Turner's Rod & Reel charter had 26 anglers, including chartermaster Rich Jenkins, who got the biggest fish of the trip, an ineligible 98-pound tuna that bit on a dual-sardine rig under the kite. Rich brought his big tuna into the lineup shot with the winners.

Tim Campbell, owner of Swifty Mfg., won first place, for a 72.5-pound yellowfin. Tim said he bagged his prize-winner on a flylined squid and a 9/0 Mustad 7691 hook. He fished 50-pound Jin Kai line and 130-pound Spectra backing on a Cal Sheets-treated Penn 12 reel and a Seeker 6455 H rod.

"This was a fun fish," said Tim. "You should have seen it when the tuna pushed up the squid. The water turned brown with squid and ink!"

Scott Taves of Visalia won second place for a 67-pounder, and Steve Huth of Glendora tied him with another tuna the same size.
