Art Taylor docked his Searcher with 21 anglers aboard on October 28 at Fisherman's Landing, after a seven-day trip.

"We fished the coast today at San Pablo," wrote Art October 26, "and had good fishing on 12 to 18-pound yellowtail. We caught enough of that size fish and so we elected to run up to Chester rocks for the late afternoon. We got there and had great conditions with 70- degree water and good current but unfortunately no signs of big yellowtail. We moved over to the south end of Cedros and had chance at some of those 25-30 pound yellows late in the day. We managed to land 14 of them and lost at least that many to the kelp. We're enjoying great weather and we are headed home."

Alex Ruiz of Rancho Cucamonga won first place for a 29.6-pound yellowtail. He said he caught it with a sardine on a 2/0 Mustad hook and 40-pound Izorline on an Avet 30 reel and a Calstar 760 rod.

Mike Mayes of Rancho Santa Margarita won second place for a 28.4-pounder, and Joe Preciado of San Diego was third, for a 28.2-pound yellowtail.
