http://www.fishingvideos.com"Our core group has been going on this trip for 12 years," said Bad Habit chartermaster Dr. Bill Eiche of San Bernadino at H&M Landing November 9. His ten-day trip with 12 anglers had just returned on the Spirit of Adventure, with Brian Evans as skipper.
Eiche posed with the trip's best wahoo, a 57-pounder that ate a trolled Marauder in orange and black. As a trolled fish, it wasn't eligible for the jackpot.
Ray Salvador of San Bernadino won first place, for a 76-pound yellowfin tuna. He popped that baby on a chunk, he said, with a 9/0 Hayabusa hook tied to 80-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon leader and 65-pound Jerry Brown Line One Spectra. He used an Accurate 6 reel and a Calstar 765 L rod.
Bob Friedman of Cedar Pines Park was second, for a 73-pound tuna, and Jeff Koep of Las Vegas won third place for a 49-pound wahoo that made a mistake with a gold Raider jig.
