The Truckee is really starting to pick up in both states and it looks like we,ve got a great fall season ahead of us. The best tactics have been to dea drift a variety of nymph and crayfish patterns. Tim's Dead Drift Crayfish, Poxyback Golden Stones, Deep Sherbet an Hares Ear Bottom Rollers, Gold Bead Flashback Pheasant Tails and Copper Johns have been working best. Dry Fly fishing is starting to pick up with most fish being caught on Grasshopper patterns, Yellow Humpies and Tan and Black Ripcord Caddis bringing fish to the surface. A few large fish are being caught with streamers. Stanley Streamers in Brown Trout and Dace colors, Flu Shots in Olive Brown or Yellow Brown and Wooly Buggers.
