Threadfin shad have moved close enough to shore that anglers can catch them or reach trailing stripers with surface lures and other baits. Anglers continue to reel in small striped bass from the Vegas Wash area. Recent winds have made fishing a little tough, but determined anglers are catching fish. Trout plants should begin sometime in mid- to late November with fish coming primarily from the Mason Valley Hatchery in Yerington.
