Report Date:
http://norcal.fishreports.comThe trout bite continues to be up and down this week. The lake temp is rising again and was between 66 and 67F degrees on the surface on Monday afternoon. We are seeing a pretty big movement of fish to the east side. The west side continues to be spotty action as the pods of trout are milling around, in and out of shallow rock piles briefly early in the morning but most are staying close to deeper water now that water temps are on the rise again. Trout rolling on the surface are after fly emergers. They don’t generally take a worm or lure on the surface however, casting small Panther Martin lures has been able to get their attention in the past. Black w/Yellow dots, Yellow with Black dots, Yellow w/Red dots (brass over nickel spinners) are the ones that have previously worked for surface action. Other than doing that or fly casting emergers 3’ under an indicator & letting it sit for a while & twitch it every so often, the average angler is going deeper to get the trout.
