http://www.kenssport.comThe late fall fishing up at Bridgeport Reservoir is
really starting to turn on. As always, I'm spending
some time (4 weeks) up here in the eastern high
sierra's and enjoying some outstanding fishing.
The crowds are basically zero now. Three of the last 6
days I have been the only boat on the lake. This makes
the fishing all the better with VERY low pressure. The
weather is something to watch up here as I have been
caught in some bad storms on the lake. With the next
few days of weather looking questionable I figured I
better get out again Thursday.
Yesterday (Thurs Oct 18) while enjoying a beautiful
fall day trolling Bridgeport I hooked into some very
nice fish. I had one brown hit so hard he broke me off
almost as fast as he hit. He did jump and looked to be
in the 5-7 lb range before seperating my new 4lb test
line. SHUCKS! I know 4lb sounds light but I have
landed browns up to and over 10 lbs on that light
line.
I had many strikes while trolling and landed a Very
nice 3 lb rainbow and an even nicer 3 1/2 lb brown.
Typical of this time of year the quality is far better
than quantity. I have had days of only one rainbow
landed and days of 3 rainbows & one brown as my best
day trolling so far. I always seem to get many strikes
but a lot of the time they don't "stick" while
trolling.
I'll be here a few more weeks and will keep you posted
as I expect the action to improve as the weather gets
worse. I'll attach photos.
