The fishing has been excellent but there are days you have to locate the fish. There can be a lot of movement from day to day. It is a matter of finding the larger concentrations of minnows. Watch the grebes and pelicans. To find the minnows, locate the most dense populations of grebes. The trout are in 8 to 50 feet of water but consistently biting about 5 feet deep all morning. Minnow imitations of all sorts are working including broken back Rapala’s. With the color increasing in the water, pearl, yellow, chartreuse, glow and flourescent orange, any metal flash and darker colors such as brown and black will show up better to the fish than anything else.
