Report Date:
http://norcal.fishreports.comSurface temps are cooling to low 60s mid-day. Lake levels are the lowest in 37 years, several ramps are no longer useable. The public ramp at Canyon Dam still is operational, with dock. USFS ramp is useable, but no dock. The private ramps serving the Lake Almanor Country Club (LACC) are useable. Rec. 1 has only one ramp now, instead of two and it’s steep and narrow. Big boats with big trailers not advised. The Rec. 2 ramp on the peninsula is in excellent shape. LACC work crews have moved the log boom out to deeper water, and pushed the dock out allowing access. Rec. 2 area has a good jigging bite one day and weak the next - hit it right and browns to 5 pounds will strike. Several limits reported by different two man teams working different areas, with most of the action coming late into the morning and into the afternoon.
