Trollers are catching limits of trout every day, says guide Dick Nichols of Dick's Fishing Charters. Shaver Lakes producing mostly limits of rainbows and a few brown's in most areas of the lake. Nichols likes the island, Eagle Point and the Stevenson/Tunnel Creek's area. Most trollers are targeting the trout at 20 to 30 feet deep and are using a variety of spinner/blade combinations with a tip of crawler. Early morning was the most effective hours however, with a full moon, the best bite was mid morning. Even with the lake being at 49% capacity, a mid week count of boats on the lake was 10 or more. Weekends even more. Most are able to launch without much problem.

The lake should level at about 47% when all is done. Bank fishermen have had some success in their attempt to catch trout. Reports of limits have been noted especially in the roads 1 and 2 areas. Power Bait or crawlers seem to do the best.
