Report Date:
http://norcal.fishreports.comWith beautiful weather in the 50 and 60's, several trollers traveled from the valley to Shaver Lake through the week. Surprisingly, Sunday only found a couple boats on the lake. Good news is, they are catching fish. Shaver Lake continues to supply those who make the trip up the hill with limits of nice trout to 16 inches. Dan Comer and Rich Paredes, of Fresno brought their limits by Shaver Lake Sports this week as proof of their success. The duo were fishing the Black Rock area at 15 to 20 feet down using a crawler behind a blade combination. Black Rock was the hot spot this week with another angler from Visalia picking up an easy limit there too. Spinners, tipped with crawler behind blades or dodger's seemed to be the go to lure for the bow's. The reason for the success, simply a lot of hold over's from the 2014 heavy plant season. I think the action will continue as long as you can get on the water and try. Hopefully the lake will provide limited access due to heavy snow soon. We really need it. The ramp at Sierra Marina is still in the water. However, the walk way connecting the permanent walk way and the marina that most use to enter there boats is missing from the shoreline. Additional members of fishing groups must board from shore after parking their towing rig and trailer.
There haven't been many reports from bank anglers, but the couple I received showed few if any fish being caught.
