Joes Valley Reservoir Fish Report

Utah Division of Wildlife

Report Date:

http://wildlife.utah.gov

On Jan. 17, Conservation Officer James Thomas visited the reservoir and the ice was unstable. Open water occurs at tributary mouths. A day earlier, Tony Wright fished in shallow water near the rocky east side. In five hours, he caught one tiger trout and two splake. The fish were skinny and about 15 inches long. The ice was six inches where Wright fished. He urged anglers to be extra cautious around the dam cove or in Seeley Bay, where warm water springs can thin and soften the ice. Please be extremely cautious if you choose to venture out onto the ice.
