Orange County Fire authorities issued a mandatory evacuation notice on Friday evening in the wake of an unexpected sudden flare-up and direction change of the Santiago Fire. In response to this new emergency, it appears likely that Irvine Lake will be closed on Saturday October 27.
We will be monitoring the situation closely, and if the authorities give the OK, the lake may possibly be able to open on Saturday. The safety of our employees and guests is paramount, and we hope to be able to open for fishing on Sunday October 28.
