Report Date:
http://wildlife.utah.govThe ice is about eight inches thick, and the fishing is very good for most anglers. Jigs tipped with worms -- including nightcrawlers, wax worms or mealworms -- have been working very well. PowerBait, however, has been much less effective. The trout are beautiful colors and about 17 to 18 inches long. Anglers report good fishing near Dixie Hollow and west of the ramp, near the dam. Fish are being caught throughout the water column and are schooling. Ice thickness varies in some locations, so please use extreme caution and common sense when venturing out. The first leg of the Wasatch Back Quad-fishalon will be held at East Canyon tomorrow (Jan. 31). The Quad-fishalon is four ice-fishing tournaments at four separate reservoirs. You can choose to enter one or all. Cabela's is sponsoring the event and will award an ultimate ice fishing package worth thousands of dollars!
