On Jan. 28, fishing was slow to fair. Fishing near the dam can be a little slower, but it may improve as you move away from the dam. There are about six to seven inches of good, strong ice and about an inch of standing water from a recent rainstorm. Use caution and common sense when venturing out. The road leading to the boat ramp is not maintained during the winter, and it is covered with a mixture of packed and powdery snow.
