http://norcal.fishreports.comSurface temps at 40.0 degrees midday. The lakes clarity is very poor. Green particles are everywhere, upwelling from the lakes bottom. It looks like green snow flakes. It's been like this for the last 2 weeks. It's a natural low water phenomenon and will take a while for this to improve. Avoid the Hamilton Branch and the Big Springs area. Brown, mud-infused water releases from Walker Lake is entering Almanor.
Generally fishing has been fair to poor because of clarity. Slow trolling threaded crawlers or soft plastic smelt patterns got most of the action early. After 11:00 a.m. when the sun got high, fast action 1/6 oz Speedy Shiners in silver hammer finish seemed to do better. Generally fish are moving slowly these days.
