It's simply the best; the best waterfowl hunting clinic that the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) has to offer. In partnership with Wilderness Unlimited, DFG's Advanced Hunter Education Program is hosting a waterfowl hunting clinic in Williams, Colusa County, on Sept. 30.

The cost is $40. Space is limited.

To register, go to www.dfg.ca.gov/huntclinics and print out the registration form then send it to the address given, or call (530) 347-3980.

The clinic starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Lunch will be available for $5, or participants may bring a sack lunch.

DFG's Northern Enforcement District Assistant Chief Mike Carion, along with Warden Aaron Freitas, will instruct this exciting clinic.

Carion and Freitas have "decades of successful duck hunting between them," according to Susan Herrgesell, Advanced Hunter Education program coordinator. Their combined experience is what makes the class the finest opportunity for waterfowl hunters at any level of experience. Topics covered are concepts of decoy placement, blind design, ballistics, and calling. Instructors will also offer key information on duck identification, canine considerations, gear and clothing, game care and cleaning, cooking tips and safety.

Kittles Sporting Goods of Colusa will offer participants the gear and garb that are ideal during a hunt.
