The Truckee is fishing good right now and river flows are at 320 cfs in Reno. The best fishing success will come from dead drifting nymphs. Fish are responding well to a wide variety of nymph patterns but some of the best have been Morrishes Deep October Caddis 6, Two Tone Hunchback Nymphs 18-20, Bead Head Micro Mays 16-18 and Copper Johns 16-20.

Streamers will work for the larger Browns, some of the better patterns are the Goblin 6, Stanley Streamers 6, Bandit Leeches and Large Wooly Buggers. Keep your eyes open for rising fish, especially on overcast days when there are good hatches of Blue Winged Olive Mayflies.
