Marine Life Discovery Tour Scheduled Aug. 26

Back Bay Science Center educators will take visitors 10 years old and above on a free land and boating tour of the Back Bay estuary to study marine life on Saturday, Aug. 26. The tour will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. at 600 Shellmaker Rd. in Newport Beach.

The Back Bay is an estuary that is home to hundreds of marine animals that are rarely seen and often hidden. ??This tour will allow participants to see and touch sharks and safely examine stingrays and other marine life with an opportunity for close up inspection. Become a part of a scientific monitoring team that will determine the health of the bay through the kinds of animals that are discovered. Get close, get muddy, get dirty, and get packing. Call quickly, as boating tours will be limited to the first 30 people to arrive.
