http://www.fishingvideos.comRetired owner-skipper Joe Dunn (Champ and other sportboats) is 88, and he just finished a 10-day trip aboard the Spirit of Adventure with Brian Evans. Dunn had a remarkable experience on the Bad Habit charter with 15 anglers.
"There were marlin everywhere," he said at H&M Landing November 8. "They were the normal size, and they bit everything we fished with. They were the worst near Tosca, mixed with dorado and wahoo. The ocean was alive."
The biggest wahoo of the trip was a 50-pounder that ate a purple and black Marauder trolled by Bob Friedman of Crestline.
Dave Miller of San Diego won first place for a 39.8-pound dorado. He got the big "flat" on a sardine and a 4/0 Eagle Claw hook, with 30-pound Momoi line and 60-pound Line One Spectra backing on a Trinidad 20 reel and a Calstar 765 MML rod.
Frankie Phillips of Highland won second place for a 36-pound wahoo, and Chuck Woodman of Lawndale won third place for a 35.4-pound dorado.
