Crappie nibbles on jigs, mealworms, and crank baits worked very well at the mouth of Clark's, Santa Cruz point, and off various branches and tree stumps around Jack Rabbit Flats and the cistern island. Most were caught in 5-12 ft of water with an average of 2 lbs. The bass hit well on cranks, nightcrawlers, senkos, and power minnows. Launch point and the east end of the Flats held smallies and largies all week. Many anglers reported limits of bass as a 13lb. stringer topped the week. 25 Carp came in throughout the week and 14 were shot off the bank from Bobcat to Santa Cruz. The catfish hit well in Johnson Bay and the shallows of Cachuma on nightcrawlers and mackerel. Few limits reported but stringers averaged 4-7 fish each.

The crappie made a good showing this week on the east end of the lake. Multiple anglers were able to anchor up and bring in between 6-10 fish each primarily on jigs paired with a crappie nibble. The bass continues to bite the best off of the lunch station. Most are being caught about 15ft deep on senkos, spinners, and nightcrawlers. Catfish hit the best in 7-11am and 4-6pm range in virtually every inlet on the lake this week.......

The bass and the catfish bite was excellent this week as many fishermen caught limits. Billy Kane of Palmdale caught his limit of smallies and largies in a couple of hours off of launch point. an oxblood roboworm on a texas rig did the trick for him. Other anglers did well drop shotting Gulp minnows and pumpkin worms. The catfish hit hard throughout the day for shore fishermen and boaters alike off nightcrawlers and stink baits including mackerel, bloody dough......
