Water temperature remains in the low-60s and water clarity is about 4 feet. Mt. Lassen planted 1000 pounds of trout this week and we are expecting another plant in two weeks! Please follow our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/lakechabot, for weekly updates on fishing conditions.

TROUT
We are having a good trout season. Anglers have been catching a few trout, trolling near the dam. EBRPD planted 1,000 pounds of trout this week and we are expecting another plant in two weeks. Trolling back by the dam using a pink flicker shad, and Rapalas has been successful these last couple weeks. Anglers on the shore have had good success with Powerbait and Powereggs.
BASS
Bass fishing has slowed down a bit. Many anglers are using plastic worms or swim baits. There has been an abundance of smaller size bass (1 to 2 pounds) being caught all over the lake. Senkos have been the most popular bait to use. Currently hot spots are over by the Island, Raccoon Point, and Alder Point. Please practice catch and release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!

The weather this week has been perfect for trout fishermen. Cold and calm mornings make for great fishing weather. The hot bite this week has been trout, with many anglers limiting out either from shore or boat. Most anglers like to use power bait and power eggs. I would also recommend using either mice tails, kastmasters or small spinners. Catfish are slow this week with few anglers even targeting them. If you target catfish fish points and rock walls.
