Twenty anglers fishing with skipper Brian Evans on the Spirit of Adventure returned on the Citarella Charter when the boat docked at H&M Landing August 2. The trip was seven days and visited Alijos Rocks, where quality yellowfin tuna and wahoo were caught. The best fish was a 104-pound tuna caught on the kite (and therefore ineligible) by Bruce Wyant of Ventura.

Pete Fallini of Santa Paula won first place for a 97.6-pound yellowfin he bagged with a sardine on a 4/0 ringed Super Mutu hook on 50-pound Big Game line, and Accurate 270 reel and a Calstar 700 MH rod.

Jim Boyles of El Cajon won second place for a 94-pound yellowfin.
