Report Date:
http://www.truckeeriveroutfitters.comWater Conditions :
Temps have cooled big time, 27 degrees in Bridgeport this week. Flows are at 61 CFS as of 9/28.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches:
Fair
Early morn. Water temps are 61 degrees. Midday temps rise to 65 degrees. There is a midge hatch around 8:30am followed by Trico's around 10:30am. Witch goes into the blue winged olives around 12:00. If fishing sub surface, don't be afraid to fish 3x tippet with the water this dirty. That way if you hook into a brut, you don't fight him to long (land fish quickly).
With the flows this low (62 cfs) and lots of people around there is limited fishable water.
Please be careful handling these fish, they have had a long hot summer. We need them next year!!!
Recommended Flies:
Midges and tricos still best bet early morning. Zebras, tigers and bloods #14s-#20s, swimming caddis, pupa and larvae as well in sizes #16-#20. Afternoon-evening use rubber-legged dries (big), stimis and elk hairs #14-#20.
Guides Hint: Try bringing a float tube with you and fish the Bridegeport res, one day.
