According to the fleet's GM, Armando Gutierrez, there is good tourist
activity throughout the area, but most of the anglers want to fish
the 4-hour days, which just doesn't allow for sufficient fishing
time. Even though the fishing often begins within a mile of the
entrance to the Marina, the boats still have to troll around for the
fish and it takes a bit of time each morning to locate the better
bite areas. His report for the past week reflected 13 fishing days,
(all short days) and reflected 17 king mackerel, 6 Atlantic
barracuda, 2 wahoo and 5 amberjack.
PM Climate: Partly cloudy but comfortably warm days, temps from 68
nights to 87 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Temps from 77-79 throughout the area, light tropical
breezes from the east.
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged ballyhoo were the bait of choice.
