Water Conditions: Opening Day is April 28. This year should have a good opener on the McCloud.

Fishing Conditions & Hatches: For opening day this year, expect some little yellow stones, possibly a few early Salmonflies, and a smorgasbord of mayflies.

Flies: Drifting Flashbacks #14-18 * Poxyback Golden Stone Nymph #8-12 * Gidget Nymph #18* Beaded Dark Stone #8 Micro Stone, dark #12 * Beaded Prince Nymph #10-14 * #8-12 Stimulators * #16 Parachute Adams Humpies, royal wulffs and the like.

The Fly Shop's Tips: The best access on the Lower McCloud is at Ah-di-Nah Campground, the Nature Conservancy, and at Ash Camp.
