The river is running at about 138 cfs today. The fishing down there has gotten a bit tougher with the warmer weather we’ve been getting, pretty typical for this time of the year. It’s best to be down there before 10 am and after 5 am right now and let those fish rest during the heat of the day. There has been some decent dry fly action both in the mornings and evenings most days with trico’s, PMD’s, blue duns working in the mornings and E/C caddis, elk hair caddis, parachute adams and razor caddis working in the evenings. If the fish decide to not look up during those time frames, go with your caddis nymphs and small midge patterns like usual.
Patterns to try: Rainbow warrior, silver streak, san juan worm, squirmy wormy, micro mayflies, top secret midge, darth baetis, buckskin caddis, dark lord, copper John, LaFontaines deep sparkle pupa, z-wing caddis, Fox’s poopah, razor caddis, elk hair caddis, E/C caddis, parachute adams, blue dun, pale morning dun.
