Where'd they go? Perhaps the most dramatic fish flip-flop of recent
history for Cabo San Lucas, and I think one could safely say that the
billfish bonanza of 2009 is officially over. It was a very difficult
fishing week for the entire Cabo fleet that left the boats searching
far and wide for action. A few boats even fished the inshore circuit
in an effort to provide the anglers with some action for the day's
effort. Overall combined fish counts for 35 days reflected a single
striper released, ("Gaviota VIII") 54 dorado, 12 yellowfin tuna, 10
yellowtail and 16 sierra.
Cabo Climate: A sun-cloud mix this week with temps from 63 nights to
86 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Changing sea temps being noted throughout the
Pacific side with the Golden Gate falling to 70 degrees, Jaime Bank
at 71 degrees and rising from Cabo to Gorda Point to 73-74 degrees.
Best Fishing Area: None! The fish are scattered far and wide with
no concentration.
Best Lure/Bait: Not reported
Live Bait Supply: Good supply but the Golden Gate is no longer
holding bait to replenish the supply.
