Lake Oroville bass fishing turns red hot

Phenomenally good bass action is the story on Lake Oroville, according to Fil Torres at Oroville Outdoors. "Bass fishing in Lake Oroville is off the hook", remarked Torres. "We are hearing from people who are release as many as 60 to 100 fish per boat! Now is the time to get out there with kids, beginners and relatives so that they can catch plenty of fish.

"Folks are throwing everything; including Senkos, worms, jigs and tubes. Nothing real large is being caught, but the action is very user friendly. Best results have been in the middle fork and south fork areas, with some of the larger spotted bass being in deeper 20 and 30 foot depths."

Torres tipped, "The crappie should be getting ready to spawn in coves with wood in them. Use live minnows or small chartreuse grubs."
