Last weekend's Angler's Choice tournament event on Lake Oroville saw the winner weigh-in what may be the largest five-bass stringer ever caught on Lake Oroville, according to Fil Torres of Oroville Outdoors.
The five fish weighed a total of 26.25 pounds, topped by big Florida-strain largemouth of 9.57 and 7.98 pounds. All five of the bass were the Florida-strains, and were caught by the team of Cody Meyer and J.R. Wright of Grass Valley.
"This could possibly be the heaviest limit ever caught in Oroville", reported Torres. "It is definitely the biggest in many years. They were caught on Senkos and Mission Fish 3:16 Swimbaits", reported Torres.
"The best bet right now is to start down at 30 feet and look for staging fish. Incoming water is still very cold, although there are starting to be some bed fish. Ripbaits are working well, and if we have a warm spell, there is a topwater bite happening."
Torres added, "The coho salmon seem to have slowed down some."

Irvine LakeWater still rushing into Irvine Lake; 8.4 pound trout tops The heavy influx of water continues to raise Irvine Lake's water level, reported Jimmy Getty at the Pro Shop.
