Water temperatures over the weekend were in the mid-upper 60s. Many largemouth bass have moved to their summer locations. Some bass are hitting topwater baits in the mornings and evenings. During the middle of the day bass can be caught on jigs and plastic worms/stickbaits. The lake level is very low for this time of the year so many submerged logs are out of the water.
Yellow perch are starting to show up along the weedlines. Some perch are scattered throughout the middle of the lake and are feeding on the hatching insects. Trout anglers are picking up a few perch while trolling flashers and wedding ring spinners.
Trout are scheduled to be stocked in North and South Tenmile lakes this week. Anglers should try trolling wedding ring spinners or other spinners tipped with a worm. Midges and other aquatic insects are hatching daily, which is bringing the trout closer to the surface to feed.
Trout fishing in streams opened on Saturday, May 22. For streams above tidewater, anglers must use artificial flies and lures.
