Mazatlan was mostly indirectly affected by Jimena, as she delivered a few days of rough waters and rain, but not much wind, and the Port was closed for 3 days. Earlier in the week, the boats reflected catches for 7 days fished that included 4 sailfish and 8 dorado for the offshore fishery and 10 dorado for three inshore super panga fishing days. The Fleet & the city of Mazatlan are fine and there was no physical damage due to the Jimena system.

Mazatlan Climate: Cloudy & rainy for a couple of days with temps from 74 nighttime lows to 91 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Nice this morning following a few days of big swells and rough seas, with temps at 87 to 88 degrees throughout the area.

Best Fishing Area: Early in the week, the boats fished at 22-29 miles out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid and the super pangas fished mostly at the shark buoys.

Best Lure/Bait: Rigged baits were best for the sailfish and live bait best for the dorado.
