The Upper Kern trout fishing has been fair to good. The river flows have been fluctuating a bit with the recent storms. DFWL have steadily stocked trout the last four weeks. The best action has been at the park in Kernville to Powerhouse #3. Anglers are scoring fish with salmon eggs, crickets, and trout worms. Fly anglers have scored fish with nymphs and dry/dropper throughout he 20-mile stretch. The Upper Kern River was stocked this week in the following sections: Section 4, Powerhouse #3 to Riverside Park in Kernville, and Section 5, Fairview Dam to Lazy River Lodge. The Lower Kern Largemouth and smallmouth bass bite is fair to good with soft plastics and small crankbaits. At the time of reporting the Upper Kern River was flowing at 188 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 211 CFS.
