The North Fork Nehalem should be fishable throughout the week. The majority of the hatchery run in this basin is done, but there are wild broodstock hatchery fish coming back this year, which will continue through March. They are a small percentage of the overall release, so numbers will be low, but we are seeing some coming back to the hatchery and to anglers catch.

This winter we are seeing the first returns from the new wild broodstock hatchery winter steelhead program. Anglers are encouraged to report their catch of these fish to the hatchery or Tillamook ODFW office. The fish are marked with and adipose and right ventral fin clip.
