Recently, the ice around the edges of Thief Valley Reservoir has melted precluding access to the reservoir for ice fishing. There now are some areas of open water providing bank angling opportunities, and the reservoir has filled up to the level of the boat ramp. However, catch rates appear to be very low. Numerous waterfowl including swans are using the open water of the reservoir making for good wildlife viewing opportunities.
